Writing & Lecturing

Although I no longer run Fabled Gardens as a Garden Construction Company, I still do a minimal amount of design work, mainly for pre-existing clients. This has given me time to travel, to research, write and occasionally lecture on the subject I still find of enormous fascination.

The Garden as an expression of culture, time and place.

In the last ten years I have travelled to China, Japan and Northern India.

These journeys were undertaken specifically to research, explore and gain some understanding of their historic gardens.

I planned my itinerary and travelled independently to allow flexibility of time and visited many incredibly beautiful places that remain very clear in my mind.

So, I enjoy talking about the history of these places and sharing my experiences.

All talks are illustrated with photographs taken at the time.
